Learning To Listen With Your Heart:

How many times have you heard, “you are not listening to what I am saying” … and yet your ears are wide open!!! You have been listening intently to what he/she is saying, but you have been struggling to understand what he/she is attempting to communicate. The more you focus on listening the more challenging it is to understand what he/she is saying.

What I have come to understand is that others speak to us the way they speak to themselves … so when you come up against the projected wall of judgement/frustrations, know this person is doing the best that they can at the time. Your job is to ensure that you do not ‘engage’ and inflame the situation. This can be challenging, as much as you may want to ‘retaliate’, allow yourself to listen with your heart, do not take it personally and find compassion for him/her in that current moment.
