The Joy of Spring Cleaning

The term ‘spring cleaning’ feels like such an old-fashioned statement. It many ways it is old-fashioned, but then the more I learn in life, the more I realize the old-fashioned truths have some merit worth considering. Growing up, I know my mum, and her friends took the annual task very seriously as did my European father.
Whether we realize it or not, our environment effects everything we do. The next time you walk into your office, your home, your car, ask yourself, “does this space inspire me?” We often think that we need to do an entire renovation, when often what is called for is a ‘tune-up’. We grow complacent over time to clutter and over time this complacency alters the trajectory of our life.

Allow yourself with fresh eyes to consider your space and cleanse and clear it. As with any goal, start with declaring a goal that is achievable and inspiring. The key is to start: perhaps begin with a drawer, a closet, or a room, but start somewhere and complete the task. The exercise of doing a physical clearing makes room for our spiritual expansion. Allow the buoyancy of spring to ignite you in creating an environment for you to thrive.
